River (part v)

Brisbane River City Reflection

[three fragments]

*

it was like this before speech
a sliding body that sounds
like silk

*

voices of the drowned
rise so whitely
they salt our throat

*

the ruined parts of yourself
wear the city’s wake like a scar

  1. I dove in (dived?… whatever!! ;-) ) and followed the long meandering trails of water…Each with a temperament, or character of their own.. So many bends and loops, but I made it… and enjoyed your vivid descriptions of each… and fully enjoyed my visit too… x

  2. You conjurer up such haunting images and tones with the poem…the photo adds to it.

  3. Photos of the river in this series are wonderful
