It’s time again to bring you the lights of Friday Night, as seen through the lens of Cindy Keong and the pens of this Lost Shark and Ashley Martin. This week’s collaboration has an ominous glow…

My decoder ring does not align
as I had planned
to find the treasure using
a formula in square miles
this metal disk calculates
with the dust of moth wings
and by its gleam
I can see
much farther
to the rain clouds of your body

for Jason & Brad Lees
the bridge at dusk is a suicide
steals from us our men;
secrets untold
to the river
the stormbird offers no apology
its hard throat pours
in and out
with the current
the accompanying wind is perfect
keying to sombre
D flat as spirits
exit at the mouth

I look at Cindy’s photo and “a lost man” comes to mind – and then read your poem, Graham, and it is that of which you write
So lost those men… thanks as always for your comment BB
i loved both poems…and usually for me, the words are always more important than the pic..but this week’s pic is just gorgeous…love it!
I was particularly knocked out by the way Cindy’s photo ties in with my poem (which I have titled: Last Exit, Brisbane). Pretty spooky actually!
Such a tragedy what happened – your poem is a fitting tribute and hauntingly beautiful in a strange way.
Thanks Gabe, it is hard to believe things like this happen in the world…
