This is post #1001 on Another Lost Shark and I am feeling extra proud, as on Monday night, I was the recipient of this year’s Johnno Award. The national award acknowledges outstanding contributions to Queensland writers and Queensland writing and has been an initiative of the Queensland Writers Centre since 2001. And to top it all off, I got to read a selection of The First 30 poems to a very large, appreciative audience, including my lovely family and many friends. Truly, life doesn’t get better!
Here’s a link to an interview with me about the award in The Courier Mail.
A massive thank you to everyone in the poetry community I have had the privilege of working with over the last decade and to Kate Eltham and the team at QLD Writers Centre. Here’s to keeping the creative fire lit for many years to come!
