Ghostboy & F(r)iends – come join us!

This Sunday, April 26, Brisbane’s surrealist spoken word ringmaster Ghostboy will gather a few of his f(r)iends together for a stripped down afternoon of poetry and performance at Brisbane Square Library. It’s all happening in the Sound and Vision Lounge on Level One from 12:00pm – 2:15pm as part of the monthly Acoustics on Sunday gigs.

First up in the three prong poetic arsenal is local rhyme-spittin’ genre bender DarkWing Dubs. DarkWing got the room stomping at the last SpeedPoets with his unique blend of sci-fi spoken word & hip hop.

Next up is an up close and personal set from Ghostboy and his muse, the delightful Skye Staniford. Ghostboy’s shows have been known to move people in ways they never knew possible.

Here’s a clip of Ghostboy doing his thing at The Globe Theatre in Brisbane:

This is bound to be an afternoon of words to excite more than your ears.

Love to see you there…

  1. Graham! How’s it going you long streak of poetry cool, you. I am listening to wordsalad and typing at the same time. You gotta love a functioning time machine. Anyway, couple of notes. Firstly assume for a moment someone said, why the fuck what Australians pay attention to what I am doing. I have great readers from US UK Kuwait India Argentina Mexico Brazil Japan but anyway, even if you were to say look, I am not the greatest writer in the world, but I love great writing and it is all over the place, even if you were to say that I would still say, fuck man, tiny white font on a black background, do you have no respect for drunken stoned people? Are we not your audience? I am begging you, please, black font on a white background.

  2. There’s a reason Australian poetry is among the least read poetries on the planet, Graham.

  3. Yayay thankyou. This will result in fewer typos and much fewer swear words in your comment section. Now all we need is a young Australian poet who is prolific and wants to be famous. Where’s Zenobia?
